Wilderness Hunting Camps

Elk 2nd Season | Deer Hunt | Bow Hunt

In the far northeastern corner of Oregon, where the Wallowa Mountains tower over the Snake River, lies some of the state's biggest game in the vast canyon country. This brings in hunters who want a shot at a trophy buck or Elk in the secluded, rugged terrain of one of the West's premier big-game destinations.

We offer Drop Camp hunts and Supplied Camp hunts. The camps are an average of 3-8 miles in. This is your chance to experience all that "Wilderness Hunting" has to offer.

Bull Elk Hunting - 2nd Season - Nov 6-14, 2010

Bow Hunting - Aug 27 - Sept 26, 2010

The new Oregon state record archery bull was taken in the Wallowa Mountains in 2004 along with half a dozen others that were nearly as big. Experienced hunters will tell you that even bigger bulls are available, and most predict a new state record soon.

Bow Season hunts are for any bull, and it is also possible to purchase bear and cougar tags.

Drop Camp Hunts: We will pack you and your gear to your choice of sites. You provide all the gear.

Bow, Deer, or Elk: $1,400.00 with a 2-hunter minimum

Supplied Camp Hunts: We furnish the cook/sleeping tent(s), wood stoves, lanterns, table, and propane cook stove. You bring your sleeping bag, foam pad, food, cots, chairs, and propane for cooking stove and lanterns, also cooking implements and utensils along with your hunting and personal gear.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Deposit refunded to hunters with draw tags after providing proof that tag was not drawn.

*Please note: Packing out the day after your hunt ends is on a first come first serve basis and some camps need to be packed out a day or two following the hunt.

*Load limits on pack items is strictly enforced and will not be altered in any way. Pack items are limited to 125 pounds per 1 mule per hunter on a supplied camp and 190 pounds per 1½ mule per hunter on a drop camp. If you have excess weight, please contact the packing station ahead of time and you may utilize additional mules at the cost of $125.00/day. If you exceed the weight limitation and have not provided adequate notice, we reserve the right to pack in excess supplies on a date of our choosing at a cost of $350.00/day for each packer and two mules required to carry excess weight. Please note that no one item over 75 lbs. in weight or over 8,000 cubic inches in size can be packed in.
